Simon Hampshire
director
Simon has undergone formal training in architectural studies and holds a BSc (Hons) and MArch in Architecture, from the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff. He originally founded Workshop Collaborative in 2013 and has over ten years experience of working within architectural practice both in the UK and abroad.
Following participation within design workshops and exchanges between Denmark, China and the UK, the value of an interdisciplinary collaborative approach remains a key factor in his aspirations for design and innovation.
Simon’s focus is to integrate and combine the use of traditional craft with emerging technologies and progressive techniques. He believes that the latter need not bring the expiration of the former and instead, that the scope of creative process has simply expanded. A good understanding of the two, therefore, allows a project-by-project approach, in terms of an ever aspiring and increasing capability to execute the design and make process and the specific methods involved.
